Secoli fa, quando la fortezza è stata costruita, il suo scopo come quello del’altri forti è stato quello di tenere sicura la gente della città e mantenere fuori il selvaggio che circonda la città. Oggi il forte si pone come un parco aperto, che non si rende conto delle sue capacità. La fortezza del futuro cattura il selvaggio di una volta all'interno delle mura. La fortezza offre riparo per entrambe le specie locale e gli uccelli migratori.
Questo offre la città di siena una nuova funzione a diventare una destinazione per l’osservazione degli uccelli. Nella piazza interna della fortezza la topografia è inclinata e scolpita, che permette l’impianto di alberi diversi, pur mantenendo un'altezza a baldacchino costante, anche con le passerelle circostanti. La topografia e gli alberi creano zone diverse. Queste zone si uniscono per formare un mini ecosistema all'interno della fortezza, che nel tempo diventerà più forte e crearà questa nuova fortezza selvaggia.

Centuries ago, when the fortress was built, the goal was to be a strong barrier to keep the people of the city safe and keep wild surrounding out of the city. Today the fort stands as an open park, which is not aware of its capabilities. The fortitude of the future captures the wild once inside the walls. The fort provides shelter for both local species and migratory birds. This provides the city of Siena a new function to become a destination for bird watching. In the inner square of the topography of the fortress is skewed, carved, allowing the planting of several trees, while maintaining a constant height canopy, even with the surrounding walkways. The topography and trees create different zones. These areas come together to form a mini ecosystem inside the fortress, which over time will become stronger and flourish in this new wilderness fortress.
